Letter to Isa - May 23, 1987

Dear Isa,

We received your note and pictures the other day. Thank you - glad to know you are home and ok.  We didn't realize your other photos were in your bag here so Gordon is going to get them developed for you.

Nothing much has changed here.  The weather continued hot for another week or week and 1/2 after you left but it is considerably cooler now.  Thank God!! I have gotten much bigger in the last month too.  Pants that I wore while you were here no longer go around my waist (if that's what you call it!)  Even Gordon has noticed - he says "my God Sharon" alot!  One month from today and we start Lamaze classes.

We've changed the name if it's a little girl.  Jillian Nicole Corsie will be her name. That's final - finally!

The sofa-bed, microwave, vertical blinds and baby car seat have all arrived and look great.  The microwave is in constant use.  Gordon is particularly delighted with it - it makes his  cooking chores much easier.   And he's quite pleased to be able to stretch out in front of the T.V.!  We have yet to receive the little "head-holder" for the baby seat but the car seat is really great.  It does so many things.

Gordon is looking into buying a new car. He's interested in a Hyundai.  WITH AIR CONDITIONING.  He can't make a decision.  You know how hard it is for him to part with money.  He wants to trade in his car and keep his payments to $100 a month.  We should know this weekend whether he'll buy or not.

It was very strange at home the first week after you left.  It seemed too quiet and lonely.  It was always nice to see you outside enjoying the sun and all the freshly watered plants. Gordon complained all week that he felt funny, different.  I finally asked if it was because you had left and he said yes.  As we left the airport he said he felt really sorry having to say goodbye - but "what can I do?", he said.  I know he still feels a tug at his heart for family and home. Maybe once he holds that green card he'll feel differently about home because he knows he can leave the U.S. legally.  We've heard nothing from the INS.  Anyway - we both miss you very much and particularly little Andy cat.  She stills sleeps on your bed or hangs out in that room.  And I know she misses your company in the morning out on the front patio.

Well 69 days now till D-day.  We are both getting really anxious.  We have received more clothes and things and have ordered curtains, paper and miscellaneous stuff for the baby's room.  It's about time we do something about that room.

My dad called and now he's coming out in September.  Poor Gordon will have to face them all this year!  My dad's a big golfer and has heard that Gordon is too so he's anxious to play his new son-in-law.  A good friend of mine has a friend who works for a course and has put together a nice set of clubs for Gordon so at least he can practice.

I have gotten real busy within the last 2 weeks.  I showed property Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for an average of 4 hours a day.  My little feet were so swollen.  I should start putting together a couple of escrows in the next couple of weeks.  Unfortunately all of our listings are still on the market but at least they're being shown.

Well that's all for now.  Hope all is well there.  Say hello to all for us. Gordon has not heard from Steve S. yet - I wonder if they're still coming.?

Will send pictures soon -

With love,   Sharon
